Perinatal Psychiatry

Specialized psychiatric care for pregnancy, postpartum, and the transition into motherhood.

Pregnancy and the postpartum period bring some of the most important — and most complicated — mental health decisions a person will face. Questions about medication safety, mood changes, and how to protect both your wellbeing and your baby's deserve more than a rushed appointment.

This practice offers structured, in-depth perinatal psychiatric consultations for individuals who are pregnant, planning to conceive, or navigating the year after childbirth.

Areas of Focus

  • Depression and anxiety during pregnancy or postpartum

  • Perinatal OCD and intrusive thoughts

  • Postpartum mood and anxiety disorders

  • Medication management before, during, and after pregnancy

  • Guidance for individuals with a prior psychiatric history who are planning a pregnancy

  • Support navigating psychiatric care while breastfeeding

Why Work With a Perinatal Psychiatrist

Dr. Frazier holds a certificate of completion in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders from Postpartum Support International (PSI), one of the field's most recognized credentials in maternal mental health. Combined with fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry, this background supports a careful, evidence-based approach to one of psychiatry's most nuanced areas: weighing medication risks and benefits during pregnancy and lactation — because caring for you and caring for your child's development go hand in hand.

What’s Included

Perinatal Psychiatry Consultation

A 90–120 minute, in-depth consultation combining PSI perinatal psychiatric expertise with fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry — offering a dual lens on both your mental health and your child's development.

  • Comprehensive psychiatric and reproductive history, including prior episodes, medication response, and family psychiatric history

  • Medication risk/benefit discussion specific to pregnancy and lactation, grounded in current evidence — including what's known about long-term developmental outcomes for your child

  • Coordination with your OB/GYN, midwife, or other providers, so your care team stays aligned

  • Personalized, actionable care plan tailored to your symptoms, history, and goals

  • Detailed written summary and recommendations you can share with your providers or reference on your own

  • One optional 30-minute follow-up visit, available within 45 days of your initial consultation, included in your bundled rate

Ongoing care beyond the included follow-up is available for select patients.
